Rocket Tubes!

The CV4507

Built in the 1950s through to the 1970s the CV4507 is the British Military grade version of the classic Mullard EC70 tube. Designed and made by Mullard for use in a new Royal Airforce rocket guidance system, the CV4507 features absolutely no Mullard or MOD markings on it in case the technology it was used in was ever captured! ‘Ruggedized’ for military needs the CV4507 is built to much higher standards than normal commercial grade tubes, it features much thicker glass to reduce micro-phonics, is less susceptible to temperature changes, and can handle shocks exceeding 15g should you have any accidental drops! We have a decent supply of these tubes and will be providing replacements and spares should customers need them.

Real new old stock tubes straight from the MOD! They come in the original British military packaging addressed to the ‘Officer Commanding’ and are the genuine article!

We managed to find this article cover from The New Scientist Magazine dated 1958 while researching the CV4507 and testing what tubes to use. This dates to around the time the rocket guidance system it was used in first came out, rocket guidance was an incredible leap forward in technology at the time and sub-miniature tubes were just starting to come into their own!
